Pingyao Production Update

Hello wonderful backers!
It has been a little while since our last update and we apologize for not getting an update out to you all last month. Rest assured, we have been working hard to get everything ready to get to you. This update will be relatively short but we do need to get some bad news out of the way first before we get to some really good news.
The Bad News
Ok, before you get too worried, while it isn't the best news, we just want to be upfront with you on any potential issues or delays that we run into and ultimately this news is only a little bad.
It was our sincere hope that we would be able to get these games out to you well before the anticipated September delivery time, but unfortunately production has taken a little longer than we expected. Right now all of the games are currently being assembled and prepared for shipping and we are on track to have that completed by the end of June.
The Good News
The good news is we are still on schedule to have games arrive to you in September. In fact, we have been looking at shipping costs and trying to find the best options we can in terms of how fast we can have things shipped. With some of the recent shipping we have done within the last month, shipping prices for air and ocean freight shipping are comparable in pricing. IF prices remain like they were last month, we will be able to use air freight shipping instead of ocean freight shipping for some of our backers. For US backers that would mean that once they start shipping you may be getting your games within a month. Remember, we are hoping to have all packaging and assembly completed by the end of June so it is possible that games could begin arriving in August. Now, we do not want to get your hopes up so please remember that this is not set in stone, and while this is a possibility based on current pricing, things could change. If we have to use ocean freight shipping you can expect about 6 weeks of shipping time.
Some of you non-US backers are probably wondering, what about the rest of the world? We are actively working to ensure that all of our shipping regions get the quickest possible delivery times. For some regions (again we will not be certain until actual shipping starts) air shipping may also be available, but if not we expect similar ocean shipping times as mentioned above. Fortunately, we are still on track for all of our backers to receive their games by the end of September.
While we are optimistic that we will be able to deliver to you on time, we also are aware that delays can, and unfortunately do, occur with Kickstarter fulfilment. With that said, we will be sure to let you know of any delays as soon as they are on our radar.
Dunhuang Update
The next game in our Chinese City Series by Pingyao designer, Dunhuang: Pearl on the Silk Road will be launching on Kickstarter after we have completed fulfilment of Pingyao. An exact KS date has not been determined yet. However we recently had the opportunity to get Dunhuang played with some content creators on Tabletop Simulator. Don from the Secret Cabal Gaming Podcast, Mark from Not Bored Gaming, and Will from Hungry Gamer all joined one of our team, Tyson in playing a game. Hello backers! It is nearly that time when we finalize the pledges and lock the pledge manager. We will be closing the pledge manager in 3 days from now on April 30th. With the closing of the pledge manager also comes the great news that we are nearly finished with production. We have a few more things to print (such as the rulebook) and then we will be finishing the production. While we don't have much to tell you about the production process, we do want to show you a little of what it is looking like (please note that not everything in these pictures are completely finalized).

Hello wonderful backers!
First off, sorry for the slower update this month, we were hoping to get some pictures of the printed game to you before we sent out our next update, but while the game is on track with production, we weren't able to get the pictures we wanted for you. As of right now, most of the components for the Chinese Festival Bag pledge (lacquer box and copper coins) are ready to go. Most of the components for the game and expansion are also close to completion. The biggest thing that we still need to have printed is the English rule book. We took a little extra time on the rules than we had planned so that we could take all of the wonderful feedback we received and apply it. Because we took this extra time and we waited until after Chinese New Year to submit the final rulebook we added an extra week or two to production. We are still on track to getting the games to you by our estimated delivery date of September. We expect that production should wrap up in the next 3-4 weeks. With that in mind we have decided to extend the pledge manager being open until the end of April.
PLEDGE MANAGER CLOSING IN 2 WEEKS
The pledge manager will remain open for the remainder of this month, but will be closing on April 30th. That is exactly 2 weeks from now. The majority of you have completed your surveys, but there are about 20% (118 backers) who have not completed your survey. If you have not completed your survey, or if you are not sure if you have, please complete your survey. If you have lost your survey link, please use this one:
If you have any issues/questions, please let us know within the next two weeks so that we can make sure everything is in order. Remember, the survey will give us your address to ship your copy of the game to, so if you do not complete it we will not know where to send your game.

We opened the pledge manager on Friday and so many of you have already completed your surveys! Thank you to everybody who has already completed your surveys. If you have not yet completed your survey be sure to do that sooner rather than later so that we can make sure that everything is in order. Full Production is Underway
In our last update we let you know that we were already sourcing components for our production and now we are pleased to let you know that full production is underway which typically takes about a month to complete. We will keep you updated on the process and any changes as information becomes available.
Because there isn't anything to show you at this stage as far as production goes we wanted to share this image of Reiner Knizia (Pictured with designer Wu Shuang) visiting our booth to express his interest in PingYao after Dunhuang (the next game in our Chinese City Series) was awarded the Golden Dice at Dice Con CN, 2018 in Beijing.

Pledge Manager Opening

Hello all!
It has been about 2 weeks since the campaign ended and we are hard at work getting this game ready for you. Even though it was the Chinese New Year we have been able to continue our progress on the game. We have already begun manufacturing on components for the game and excited to tell you that we are right on track. Beyond that, we are currently putting the finishing touches on the English rule book which is the last file to prepare for printing and are getting ready with that. Things are moving along very well and we are excited for more to come.
Pledge Manager Opening This Week
The main purpose of this update is to let you know that we will be opening up the pledge manager this week. We will be using BackerKit as our pledge manager.
Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.
You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.
If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://pingyao-first-chinese-banks.backerkit.com.
